Happy Accident





Sometimes the greatest moments are captured by chance. I had recently been shooting some long exposures with my Fuji X100 on the East River. I handed the Fuji over to my girlfriend, Emily, as I focused on a timelapse I was shooting with my 7D. Not knowing the shutter was set for a 30 second exposure, Emily pointed the camera at the horizon and took this image, and it turned out to be my favorite photo from the evening.

I had a feeling that yesterday's sunset was going to be spectacular, so I made my way down to the waterfront. While I was making some long exposures with my Fuji X100, I set up my Canon 7D to make a timelapse of the sunset.
